In May I celebrated my 50th anniversary in the food business, starting as a dishwasher (naturally!) before becoming a chef, food writer and stylist, media executive, and consultant. After retiring from Leanpath - a global food waste prevention tech company - I keep busy teaching in the Master’s Degree program at the Culinary Institute of America and mentoring food companies through the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs. Aynnie and I live in South Portland and Peaks Island with our dog Oso, a Grady White, and two kayaks. My passion for food and global cuisines began early when my family spent two years in Brazil followed by a year in Hawaii. We are proud supporters of Maine Grain Alliance and the Maine food economy.
